Due to the difficulties of the U.S. embargo, Cuba’s access to financial resources is severely restricted. In several recent cases, U.S. Treasury Department threats have forced a number of banks to stop doing business with Cuba, and to close U.S.-dollar accounts held by Cubans living abroad.
There are a variety of methods for sending cash to Cuba. One which is endorsed by the Government of Cuba is available via the website www.cubaweb.cu - one of Cuba’s main portals.
